Hey guys... I tend to stay fairly quiet about all of this, as this forum pretty much favours Folding@Home. I can respect that.

Just wanted to thank my team members, some of whom lurk/post here, for their ourstanding efforts in the last year and a half since the team's inception.

We've completed over 15,000 results returned, not a small feat when you're a team of less than 30 people, and each workunit takes 6 hours at least on a 2.2GHz AXP processor. A lot of members have machines quite a bit slower than that.

It's an outstanding achievement for such a small but dedicated cadre of members.

I would like to know more about this program before I install it. My father died recently from lung cancer and I have had three other family members perish from cancer in one form or another.

My question is simple. While I don't mind leaving my computer up all the time to run this, does the program cease automatically when other intensive programs are started, such as games or Benchmark utilities, or would I have to manually stop it? EI=ither way, I will participate, just send me a PM with instructions on how to work for your team. It is truly a noble effort.


edit - None of your stats would load properly. I got boxes with little red X's in them.

Team 34106 is the ID used by AMD forums. It will cease but I have a tendancy to pause it. It is easy to do since there is a tray icon for it. I haven't tested it with it running and not running while doing benchmarking. I have left it running while gaming and it didn't seem to hinder performance.
