I run my main rig for sharky forums team now-may switch to here. I am considering building 3 or 4 pc's as cash becomes available. Here is what I came up with trying to get best bang for buck.

antec slk 2600 with 300w ps: $55
msi k8t neo2-f mobo with via k82 800 chipset-skt 939: $99.50
athlon 64 3000+ 1.8 ghz winchester: $149.50
corsair value select (2x 512mb) pc3200: $145 (or whatever name brand is on sale)
name brand 80gb sata hdd: $65
sapphire radeon 9250 pci vid card: $55.50
total cost $569.50 + tax & shipping.

I would have liked to go with sff but soltek eq3901a for skt 939 is $294.50--$140 more than case & mobo-hard to justify.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Not bad. But that will proably be your first build, then you will change over time.

You may end up needing a better power supply, but I am unfamiliar with that supply.

I would probably agree with you guys that 300w may not be enough but antec is a top name in ps--surprised you have never heard of them.

even if its name brand 300watts is way to low. ur system will probably take up around 250watts. i wouldnt feel safe runing it on a 300watts psu.
