well i was looking through the AMD team's listing for who has the most WU's/Points, and i came across something intersting. i have 11 WU's done to date, and i am beating someone who has 41 done in points!!! i was like WOW!
out of 11 WU's, id say 4 are from my duron, 5 from my P4, and 3 from my A64. not even all cores are done by me P4 and im STILL beating people with wayyy more WU's done then me!!
i always remembered people talking about this problem, but i never really noticed it until now. sure, its nice having a PC that gets me tons of points, but its really not fair. is anythign being done to fix this problem?
thanks

Does this mean that the amount of points you get is dependant on your raw clock speed?
Hmm i'm not sure if this'll work but if you enable the 5MB and over box I think you might start getting those 600 pointers.

but i remember reading that Pentium 4's tend to get higher scoring WU's then A64's and i just through i would post in and say i agree....

Take a look at where I am in the team, and consider I'm only using an Athlon XP...but it's running at 2.4 GHz. Respectfully, Old Camper Proud sporting shooter and member of the SSAA.

Hmm i'm not sure if this'll work but if you enable the 5MB and over box I think you might start getting those 600 pointers. no, because Stanford has yet to officialy "support" AMD cpu's, very very few high point WU's go to AMDs...i think it was something with Intel being a sponser of the Stanford project /blink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='blink.gif' /> there was an article somewhere but i'm too lazy to find it /tongue.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tongue.gif' /> but yea, AMD guys are pissed because Intels constantly get high point WU's and AMD's rarely get any

It is partly to do with cpu speed but "luck of the draw" comes into it aswell. When I started I was getting 600 pointers regularly. Now on the same machine I've been doing lots p75*'s for low points.Recently I've been getting the 600 pointers again.Go figure.
Someone somewhere said a higher multi can make a difference aswell but I haven't tested that theory yet.

i routinely get the 600pointers on all of my amd systems i dont think there is a big conspiracy going on its just luck of the draw /wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' />

Do you wish me a good morning, or mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not; or that you feel good this morning; or that it is a morning to be good on?

In the last month I have only had 1 600 pointer on my Intel machines and have received many of the smaller WU's instead.

heh...figures by the time i post, the issues are over...
so u do hav to check the box saying "recieve WU's with frames over 5MB" to get the high pointers?
