Lets give newly joined folders to our team a chance to introduce themselves, or if you spot them first you can welcome them to the team.
I'll start by welcoming knoxaustin. Nice to have you fold for the team.

I have been folding for my team since 2003. Napalm Mice, team 39183.

I'm going to switch a couple CPU's over to the forums.amd.com team, 34106. As it stands we're below Hardware Canucks, majorgeeks, some Mac team, and the PS3 team. I know that many of us here have very powerful computers, or access to tons of machines. Wouldn't it be cool if we got 34106 in the top 100? Maybe that's a bit ambitious.
But right now, more teams are scheduled to overtake us, than we are scheduled to overtake in the coming weeks and months. We need to change that.

With an nVidia GPU, you need something of the 8-series or higher. Even an integrated 8200 with no dedicated memory in a laptop/desktop will fold. As long as you have CUDA installed. I also suggest using the most recent Nvidia driver.
With an ATi GPU, you will need a 2000, 3000 or 4000 series GPU. Even a Radeon 3100/3200 in a laptop/desktop, without dedicated memory, can fold. I have a couple folding for my team. Use the most recent CCC!
A Playstation 3 is a great way to earn more points while not using a ton of power, from what I understand. At least, compared to a computer.
With a CPU, all you need is well, a CPU. If you have more than one core, the best way to take advantage of all of them would be to run the SMP client. Or, run multiple command line clients, one per core, and set different Machine ID's for each instance of the program. Running "advmethods" or "big" work units supposedly earns more points. If you only want to run one CPU client, set disable CPU affinity to YES.
Fold fold fold!

We used to be in the low 80's at one point. It'd be nice to get back in the top 100 again.

Welcome back LVSeminole! Long time no see...hopefully we'll see you in the top 10 again in the near future.
When I joined this team we were 114th or so. Didn't take long to get into the top 100 and I'm pretty sure we got into the 70's. Then along came the GPU and PS3 clients which are good for F@H...but a little 2 powerful to compete against with just the CPU clients...even using the SMP client. Having said that...with less than 10% of a total of almost 300 members being active we could do a lot better. Hopefully more members like LVSeminole will come back to the fray.
