Yo!!! Thanks Domma. I upgraded to Catalyst 9.1, and it had a GPU folding client included, so I figured "what the heck?". All that folding since my return, with exception to one 100 point WU from a 1.6 Celeron M, is from my desktop PC. Phenom 9550, and a HD 4850.

Within the next month or so, I will be upgrading my desktop to a Phenom II 920, and a 4870 1GB with a beefy cooling solution. So that will be two GPU systems from me anyway.

I am just astounded in the performance of the GPU client. I never thought we would see this kind of performance this soon on the GPU computing front. Other than professional graphics and gaming.

With all that said, I am probably going to be adding an Opteron 175, and a HD 4870 to the fray within the next month or so.

I switched from team ATI to team AMD.Forums, so here I am with just my single 4770 (for now) till my other 4770 arrives. Who knows, I may get my Prescott 550 in on some SMP action again. I'll see how two GPUs runs first.

Here's a question. I haev my second 4770 up and running now, but it's been many years since I've run two GPU clients on the same rig. Do I still need to have two monitors attached (one to each card), to get the GPU clients to aoperate properly? I've been trying to find information, but haven't come across anything difinitive (or modern enough) for me to say otherwise. Kind of a hassle for me at the moment to run two monitos. Thanks in advance!

Well I broke down and grabbed my old, trusty, DT-14SN and hooked it up. So the two 4770's are folding up a storm now and pounding my old FX-60, haha.

Stephen_Sobchuk, which is the same name I used under all my previous folding endeavours. Don't worry, I'm not THAT much of a threat

I have the tag "Fanboi"...PorcheRacer14 has "Ardrid Returned". Does that mean Porche is Ardrid...or is Ardrid a term that i do not understand?

They are the forums user ranks and work off your post count ie. 1-50 is newbie, 51-99 is fanboi, etc., etc.. Ardrid was a very prolific poster hence the 4000+ you need for that. He was also our best folder in the beginning and led the team. Still 10th now somehow.

Ima throw my rigs onto AMD's Folding team for a few days or weeks, i normally fold for The Raptor Pit, But figured i would switch over for a little while.

Edit: Ok, i just changed the team number over on 3 clients, i still have one more to go, it may take a few hours or even 24 for it to start showing. At this point i should be able to help out with about 14kPPD, and in a little bit ill put my other machine over which will give it about 21K PPD total.

That'll be a nice boost for the team ppd. Pity more of us don't fold for AMD.

It would be nice to see some of these banging AMD systems on here being put to use for the Folding @home Project. I got another system coming in here soon to put up as well, right now i have 2 Q9650's running SMP Clients, producing 9KPPD a piece, a 5870 producing about 4500PPD on average, and my PS3 doing 1K. The next system i have coming in here soon is a i7 965 Extreme, Ill be putting that on the Bigadv SMP client and it should do about 20K PPD at least.

But yea i would love to see some more guys/gals from here in the AMD Forums folding.

Ahhhh Yes, Both Systems are up as well as the PS3, 2 days now with 19K+, some days may be lower tho, as some of these smp WU's take about 28 hours to complete, and some as low as 8 hours, so some will be higher as well.

Whelp, gotta take the systems down for a while. Power bill came in. 300 bux, that and my AC is running nonstop due to the high temps the past few weeks, so folding isnt helping that either. Ill put them back up in a few weeks.

Thanks for the welcome Domma. I am relativly new to folding, so I figured if I am going to do it, I would do it for this forum. So far every thing has worked flawless for me, running cpu and/or gpu clients. Kinda wanted to see what I could get working the system a little, for one day. I was able to get 33,759 for one day. Now I am trying to keep the average around 18kppd, then I am going to slowly ramp it down some more. Don't wanna keep the video cards constantly running at load 24-7, but I will be contributing as much as I can. Gotta come up with a good schedule to contribute, and spike it up every so often. lol
Having fun doing it, plus its for a good cause.
