I think I lost about 15 work units. I see other people on the team lost some also.

I checked a few other teams and their members averages didn't bounce back today either. They are on par with there regular daily average today. No bump from work units turned in today that were not turned in yesterday.

I'm sure it's a Stanford problem, but I have no idea if we will be credited yesterdays lost work units.

Anybody have any ideas?

from what I was reading, apparently the new gpu2 little 97 point wu's are overloading the stats updates. there are just too many to process.. I tried that new client out a couple weeks ago on my 2900pro, and it finishes the wu in less than 2 hrs... so I can see how that could happen. I mean even a single core pc with a ati 2000/3000 card can turn in 12 wu's a day. that's a lot of update overhead.. My quad only turns in 2 smp wu's a day..
I wonder how many users are using the gpu2 client... a bunch have been waiting for 2000/3000 card support, and I guess the participation population has been growing for a while, it's understandable that could happpen with those little 97point beta wu's. they should have thought this through and assigned 330 pointers like the gpu1 client.. or bigger ones like 900 point wu's. w/e, just not these little 2 hr 97 point things.

Temporary stats changes to get the stats moving

As I've posted below, we have a backlog of stats to input into our db for donors to access their scores. To speed this process, we've made some temporary changes. We've disabled stats updates from our web site. We've also limited our updates on the external stats pages for teams and donors to once every 12 hours at 6am and 6pm PST. We're trying to streamline the process so that we can get the backlog through and back to business as normal.

This is just temporary, but will be a big help. Once the backlog is through, the points will be up and hopefully all will be back to normal. We expect this may take as long as 2 days, and will give updates along the way.

Stats update very slow

We've been experiencing a great deal of stats instability, due to the new advmethods projects announced recently. The problem is that these WU's are just too short for the stats system to handle, flooding the system with 10x more WU's than it's used to handling. That means that instead of completing an update in 1 hour, it now takes 10hours, which is a disaster.

We're working to correct this, but it will likely take a little time to get through the backlog that's been generated.
