Have always ordered my computer components from Newegg and have never had a complaint. You always seem to get your order earlier than expected. When I saw the cpu-motherboard combo I was interested in on Zipzoomfly for about $10.00 cheaper and free 2nd day air via fed-ex, I thought I would give them a try. I ordered on Sunday and still do not have a tracking #. They called me yesterday to confirm my mailing address even after I confirmed it on-line during my order (already charged my credit card which makes my next statement stupid). I know for security reasons, which I appreciate. But come on, a whole day to pack it and another to ship!

Now, here I am thinking that I am getting this great deal with free shipping and 2nd day air to boot, Hah! You know, order one day, ship the next, recieve the day after, hence 2nd day air. By the time they get through confirming addresses packing the merchandise getting it to Fed-Ex for final shipping, taking a smoke break and going to the bathroom I would have already recieved it from Newegg. Yea, I am saving about $16.00 bucks, but paying a preimum in time for it. 2nd day air really means the fifth day after ordering. Zipzoomfly may be a good company but for those of us that are impatient, Newegg is the way to go. I just want my stuff!

That's odd, every time I've ordered from ZZF, they have come through faster. In fact, when I was building my current setup, I ordered the cpu and mobo from them, and the PSU and memory from newegg, all on the same day. The ZZF parts came in a week faster then the Newegg parts.

Not to play one or the other, I just wanted to let you know that 2nd day delivery means that you get it the second business day after it ships. If it goes out Monday, you get it Wednesday. That doesn't include the time it takes for a company to get it ready to ship.

I know what I'm talking about -- I'm a shipping and recieving coordinator by profession.

That is the issue. Internet shopping, including ebay has raised the standards of delivery time. Two days to get it to Fedex/UPS should be the max time. Yes there are outliers, but many ship the same day if your order is received before 10:00.

ZipZoomFly has great shipping. Ordering on Sunday means it will ship out Monday or Tuesday, as they get lots of orders on the weekend and don't ship then.

I ordered pc parts from them on a teusday, got them that thursday. That's like 1-day shipping. Besides, ZZF is cheaper. Newegg has a nicer interface/search feature, I'll give it that. I use it to investigate stuff, what with the reviews and such.

Well, I would expect it to ship out on Monday or Tuesday seeing as how I ordered it on Sunday. However it is 10:39 P.M. CST on Tuesday and I still have no tracking # and according to the web site they are still packing it. So, if they send it out tomarrow being Wed. and like the poster (that is a shipping cord.) said I should be getting it on Friday and if not Friday then I guess it will be Monday.

I didn't expect it to be shipped on a Sunday, but thought that Monday or today, (being Tuesday) that it would have been.

I have ordered probably 10 or 12 times from Newegg and have always received it the second day after ordering via Fed-Ex super saver.? I would just expect that when a company offers 2nd day air, that you might get it the second business day. Make sense? Or am I expecting to much? By the way they didn't seem to have a problem charging my debit card on Monday!

Lol, yeah, you can sometimes get a bad experience with ZZF. They have exceptions - maybe you got one of the items that 'delays' your order? True, though, you pay for super saver and you get it two days later, usually, with Newegg.

I have always just used Tigerdirect. I find them to have prices that compete well with Newegg. Haven't really checked out ZZF. Tigerdirect is verrry fast and all that, and have some excellent rebates. For instance, I got a Lexar Jumpdrive Sport 1gb for 50 bucks. During fall.

Where do you live? Where are they located? Some places are in different time zones, and what is 11 o'clock to you, could only me 7-8 for them.

Ive ordered from newegg and it got there 2 days after i ordered when i was quoted 5-7 business days. newegg parts have always come seriously early for me. every other computer place ive ordered from it is always 1-2 days late. i am also a lot closer to newegg then to a lot of these Cali places. if i see something is 55 at one site and like 60 at newegg, i will order from newegg. they are reputable and i know that they wont jack me like a lot of other sites (bait and switch). i always get at least what is quoted from them. i only ordered one thing that was suppossed to be late. i was contacted the night i ordered that my item was backordered and it still got there on time during christmas season.

The free shipping is nice if you don't mind waiting for it. You just can't beat the $6 newegg charges for its super saver shipping, I have ordered before 2pst before and have had it ship out that very day. I have never had a package delivered later than the second day after ordering from them.

Maybe this is just one of those deals, but you know the first impression is usually the one that sticks with you. Zipsoomfly may have slightly lower prices on some items and the free shipping is nice if your not in a hurry to get you items.

But for the few more dollars that Newegg charges, they more than make it up in service.

Just my opinion, as i said before "To each his own".

Hehe, waiting on zipzoomfly is an understatement! I ordered the Athlon 64 FX-53 940 from them on the 29th of Jan.

Three weeks later im still waiting.... only for them to email me 10 days after i ordered to tell me that the cpu had become out of stock during the time they tried to contact me about confirming my mailing address! THREE WEEKS!

Not to mention i had to charge my calling card up three seperate times calling them, and never got an answer, just a recording asking me to leave a message and i would get a call back, lol.... not even close. The recording connects me to the message box, and it says "Sorry the message box for this department is full, goodbye"!

So to make a long story short, i finally got ahold of them and cancelled my order and bought my cpu from www.monarchcomputer.com, top notch service there people!

Newegg is a good place, and if you like them, give Monarch Computer a try... THEY ROCK!

Zipzoomfly = Shady Business, non-trustworthy!
