I currently have a Sempron 2800 and I am more than happy with the performance, however my old Athlon XP 2000 was really slow for video encoding, I haven't tried this is on my sempron yet but would an Athlon 64 be much faster?
The software I will use is Adobe Premiere Elelements which is 32-bit, so if I was to sell this board and CPU and buy an Athlon 64 3000 would I notice any real difference?
Also I have upgraded my hard drive from an 80GB 7200 2MB cahce to a 120gb 7200 with an 8MB cahce, would this make an improvement when it comes to encoding?
My problem is I don't do much video encoding, the machine is mainly used for photoshop work and programming so its 100% fine, so its not worth me having a super PC just for the sake of fast video editing.
