Monday I'll replace a 2800+ with 3700+ to max out this ASUS K8N board. I'm curious why there are very few reviews and/or comments on the 3700+ and the few there are don't come from end users ? I know the 3400+ is also @ 2.4 and is 2/3 the cost but is that the only reason ?

The Athlon 64 3700+ is the best that Socket 754 has to offer, Athlons 64 will be moved to Socket 939 and Socket 754 will be taked by Semprons. The Athlon 64 3700+ had its moment of glory a long time ago, it was in lots of Reviews a year ago. Have you already considered Socket 939?
I put this one together as my 1st build and it's replacing a slot1 533. Any gaming I do isn't fast pace so cutting edge isn't necessary for me. I would gain little if anything from 939. The 3400 is the most logical for me but I'll just max out this board with a 3700 anyway and play stealth and golf games for a few more years. Thanks!
