I just bought a Gigabyte GA-K8NF9 board (it's a socket 939 board), ATHLON 64 3000+ and a GlacialTech IGLOO 7200 cooler.
When I start the computer the sensor in BIOS shows that the temperature of the processor is 25C. Isn't this too low? It seems to me like an error of the board sensor.
The temperature rises above 25 (it goes up to 30+) when the processor is not idle.
I brougt the board back to the place that I bought it from and they are telling me that they are having the same temperatures (25C-28C) on other GA-K8NF9 boards used with ATHLON 64 3000+.
Is this temperature of 25C real and expected or is there something wrong with the sensor on the board?

regards.

Temps should start low and build up over say 15 mins.
Have you tried running anything intensive to produce maximum heat?Try Prime95.
You can use Speedfan to monitor temps instead. It may give a more accurate reading.

You can find links to these in my sig.

Do you wish me a good morning, or mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not; or that you feel good this morning; or that it is a morning to be good on?

My dad's machine has the same board, but with a 3200+ Winchester - when first switching on it's so cold it doesn't go above room temperature even by the time I get into windows - the room temp was 15-16C and the startup temp was 16C. After running a game, and then waiting for it to go back down to idle temps it got 25C at the same room temperature (felt a little warmer then so could have been 17C ).

There is nothing wrong with it whatsoever.
