When viewing system information from Windows XP (home edition), i've got AMD Athlon 3400+ 1.8GHz. Is the clock rate configurable ? or is there such a processor ? I found 3 different OPNs but none of them running 1.8GHz.
The box says it's Athlon 3400+ 2.4GHz.
Thanks in advance for your answers.

often with CnQ, windows and windows programs reports the current running speed (the speed it detected when it tried to detect the speed) rather than what it throttles up to when it actually is doing some work... try a program like cpuz to identify the processor... even then it may report the 1.8. Try it again when running a processor intensive ap such as prime95.

Or you can disable C&Q from the Power Control Panel in Windows, switch from Min Power, to Always On, then check the speed with CPUz or some other respected software.
