Ive decided to go with as I am not satisfied with other vendors.

Well I am buying everything seperate. Ill go ahead and list my complete setup and go from there.

Case:RAIDMAX Elite Black Mid-Tower PC Case with 380W Power Supply, Model "ATX-208BP"

Motherboard:MSI "K8T NEO-FSR" K8T800 Chipset Motherboard for AMD Socket 754 CPU

Processor:AMD Athlon 64 3400+, 512k L2 Cache: OEM

Graphics Card:MSI GeForce FX5500 Video Card, 256MB DDR, TV-Out/DVI, 8X AGP, Model "FX5500-TD256"

Memory:Corsair Value Select 184 Pin 512MB DDR PC-3200

Sound Card:Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit PCI Sound Card

Random Dvd RW drive

Heatsink:Thermaltake Venus 7+ Highest Performance Cooler for AMD Opteron & Athlon 64 (With RF and Back Plate

First this is what I got so far, my brother in law who had built pc's in the past is gonna help me with this one, as it is my first build.

Under packaging for the processor it says thisackaging: OEM(Processor Only

so i assume that means I need to provide my own heatsink, again dont laugh cause im new at this.

is the heat sink liste above a ok choice? and do i need to get the gel or whatever to apply it?

again if you see any conflicts with my current setup please let me know it is greatly appreciated.

I will not be building this on my own, I ll will be simply watching my borther in law do it and learn.

you should just buy the 3400+ retail processor in a box , that way you get a 3 year warranty and the hsf. 22 dollars more but the warranty is very nice to have just in case.
If you have not ordered yet , then also see if you can find a different graphics card , I have the 5500 and it is a poor performer , it actually is not a directx9 card and I found out the hard way.the ati 9600 pro for a couple dollars more will massively outperform the 5500. I am not sure about the HSF but I have heard good things about the venus coolers. But most of all make sure you get a good quality power supply , here is something for you to read , complements of one of the smartest people in the forum ( not me of course) what psu to buy' "> remember these are just suggestions and you do not in anyway need to adhere to them , just my opinion.
