First this is what I got so far, my brother in law who had built pc's in the past is gonna help me with this one, as it is my first build.

Under packaging for the processor it says thisackaging: OEM(Processor Only

so i assume that means I need to provide my own heatsink, again dont laugh cause im new at this.

is the heat sink liste above a ok choice? and do i need to get the gel or whatever to apply it?

again if you see any conflicts with my current setup please let me know it is greatly appreciated.

I will not be building this on my own, I ll will be simply watching my borther in law do it and learn.

you should just buy the 3400+ retail processor in a box , that way you get a 3 year warranty and the hsf. 22 dollars more but the warranty is very nice to have just in case.
If you have not ordered yet , then also see if you can find a different graphics card , I have the 5500 and it is a poor performer , it actually is not a directx9 card and I found out the hard way.the ati 9600 pro for a couple dollars more will massively outperform the 5500. I am not sure about the HSF but I have heard good things about the venus coolers.
