Should I run two 6600 GT in SLI mode, Or get a 6800 GT? Would they be equal in preformance because then i'd get the 6800 GT instead of having to buy an SLI board.

I would go for a single 6800GT without thinking twice. SLI is overrated.

I would get a 6800GT also over 2 6600's, but not because SLI is "overrated". SLI is a great technology that really boosts FPS performance in most games. For the little difference in price I would still get an SLI board since you can add another card later if you wanted to.

Any SLI boards y'all would reccomend, pricewise, I want it to be something around 100 - 170.
Guess I'll go with the MSI 6800GT
How is an Asus A8n SLI? Gigabyte GA-K8N Ultra-SLI ? DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 ULTRA-D ? MSI K8N Neo4/SLI nForce4 ?

i'd suggest any except for the gigabyte.....I could be wrong about that statement but I've only heard good things about Asus, DFI, and MSI.

Now I see An X800 XL thats cheaper than the 6800 GT! Should I go back to using ATI's Cards? Which overclocks better a 6800 GT or the X800 XL? Will the ATI work better on an Nforce chipset VIA Chipset or ATI Chipset?

From what I've seen the XL is a better card, and I would never buy a nVidia !!

For mobos, look at the DFI Lanparty UT SLI-DR. It runs between 170 and 180. It may be a couple bucks above your price range, but believe me, it is worth it. You get ram voltage up to 4V, great o/c'ing possiblilties, good board layout, 8 sata, and lots more. I got the Lanparty SLI-DR, which is different, but mine does retail for 50 bucks more or so. (I got mine somehow for 140, down from a 220 msrp! Plus, all the slots are UV reactive!!! I really like my board, and the lanparty ut sli-dr is the exact same board, but with less in the retail box. I can't wait to see how far it will o/c! QUOTE Guess I'll go with the MSI 6800GT Be careful with that. MSI has one version of the 6800gt that only has 12 pipes. I almost bought it, but luckily i didnt. If it is cheaper than every other 6800gt, like around 330, it probably is only 12 pipes! Be warned! hubs8907

Yeah I saw it which is why i'm probably going to get an ATI Radeon X800 XL. It's cheaper and in some benchmarks (hal life 2) it owns. Others, It's about equal.

Yeah, it is pretty much better for the most part. And you can't beat being 100 dollars cheaper.

if you are getting the ATI card and want a DFI board go ahead and get the DFI LANPARTY ULTRA -DR (I believe that is the model) It would be much cheepr since you won't be using the SLi with an ATI.

Thats a great board too.
Just keep your mind open to the lanparty ut sli-dr because then you have a good chance of running AMR in several months.

Well with AMR (or what ever ATI is going to call it) isn't it going to be chipset dependent ? or solely driver/video card ?

From what i've heard (mainly through LVS) it will be a driver thing. The chipset wont matter, as long as there is 2 x16 pcie slots. Its not 100% sure, but thats what is looking like.

I just got a Leadtek GeForce6800 for $225 so that is what I will be using!!! YAH for me! Otherwise as far as price goes I would of went with the 6600 and eventually got 2 for SLI. Now I can just wait and get another 6800 down the road.
