Hi...i just wanted to know as i am overclocking my 4200+ cpu @2.5 GHz and kingston Ram @DDR 433 timing is 2.5-3-3-8 and is prime stable...without upping the VCORE and as i tried for 2.6 with..1.45 it failed Prime95 and i increased the ram and the Vcore it stilled failed Prime95 meanwhile my Ram was running 2 DDR 400...and the more i increased power through VCORE it stilled failed and i lowered my HT to 3..but of no use..so i am thinking, is it my PSU..what is the Minimum for my system.....I am using 450 Watt -12V-19A...is this sufficient.......and as for my ram i think running @2.5GHZ with stock VCore ,Multiplier,HTT and DDR -@433 oc..it is prime stable...so i think that even @ 2.6GHZ and lowering my DDR ram to 400 it will be ok ,so can it be my PSU?
And also i am not in SLI mode as i had removd my other Graphics card

As far as I've seen, Prime95 failures don't result from Power Supply issues. You WILL reach a maximum eventually when OC'ing any CPU, regardless of how high you crank up the voltage. Some do just better than others, and some just become better "heaters" as you up the core voltage... /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

Now, the 19A on your 12V is pretty low. You could invest in a newer power supply that has the rails configured differently, i.e. the newer specs. place more power on the 12V rails instead of the 5V rail...

An extra Power Supply on hand is always beneficial for anyone who builds their own, or fixes their own stuff... /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="<_<" border="0" alt="dry.gif" />

sorry...for my mistake...it is not Prime 95 that i am using....its OCCT...like i said...now i am @ 2.5 GHZ and memory @DDR=433...and my temps are CPU=28C and mobo =31 C......and @ load 37c max ,OCCT stable

ANd here is my Benchmarking test result with Sissoftsandra and Pc wizard

Whetstone (FPU) : 7679 MFlops
Whetstone (SSE2) : 9908 MFlops
Dhrystone (ALU) : 21081 Mips

Ram benchmark

Latency : 48 ns (120 cycles)
Bandwidth Efficiency Float : 144%
Bandwidth Efficiency Int. : 159%

and as far as the performance from benchmarking my 4200+ is running better than 4800+ cpu stock,so do u guys think this is the limit for ocing and cant go on
