Ok heres the deal,

Thanks to uncle sam its time to upgrade pc's again

But i cant decide on a cpu, using a celeron 2.2ghz atm, and definatly prefer AMD... Trying to decide between the 64 3500+, or x2 3800+

Set up im going for is SLI and Gaming Performance, primary game is EQ2 and if anyones seen it or played it, its a PC hog, i want as little lag as possible thats not server problems.

Is the Dual Core worth the extra 100$?
How big of a performace jump is the 3500 to the x2 3800

Basically what set up would anyone recommend for hardcore EQ2/FEAR.
www.monarchcomputer.com is where i will be buying my gear, and trying to keep total cost under $500/600 -- For Mobo/CPU/RAM/Video Card as i need 2 pc's

Please someone help with this, ive been outa the hardware loop for so long its giving me migraines lol

Since I don't have Dual Core as of yet, I can't speak of the 3500 to 3800 difference, only in that it would be safe to assume that given they are the same core speed and cache, $100 for an extra core seems well worth it to me...

My other comment would be that you may want to consider NewEgg.com, ZipZoomFly.com and eWIZ.com also for your CPU purchases while window shopping. All 3 have exemplery ratings, and may have better pricing than Monarch. I have nothing against Monarch, I just look at all 4 before making my purchase...
