I hope those BIOS updates give us AGP/PCI lock soon.... If hardware support this we will get it soon.... But if not ONLY new Mobo Revision will fix it...... As you know many of us are BETA Testers......

I highly doubt VIA will be able to implement a AGP/PCI lock on their current A64 boards, with just a bios flash anyway.
They have tried and failed miserably 3 times in a row now, starting with KT400. There were pre release boards sent out to testers for their KT400 and KT400A chipsets which had a bios with PCI locks in it, but it didn't work and caused great instability when enabled.
However, I would love to see VIA implement such a solution similar to the Nforce 2 and 3 boards, as it would truly make their boards the number one choice for A64, considering their current edge in performance. Let's just wait and cross our fingers.......

I have ASUS K8V Deluxe (VIA Chipset).... I saw on the BOARD a Printed TABLE REGARDING DSW (Dip Switches) for PCI/HTT Dividers.... This DSW Switch dont exist on Mobo but is easy with a soldier Gun to Install one...
Lets see the TABLE Details.....
SW4 SW3 SW2 SW1 CPU HTT PCI --------------------------------------------------------- OFF OFF OFF OFF 200.0 66.80 33.40 ON ON OFF ON 210.0 70.00 35.00 ON OFF ON OFF 233.33 66.67 33.33 ON OFF OFF ON 266.67 66.67 33.33 ON OFF OFF OFF 300.00 75.00 37.50
As you understand those are dividers for HTT ??? / PCI and not for a fixable(LOCK) HTT/PCI...
Now if we see closer we will find that on 233.33 FSB we have HTT/PCI at default speeds.... I dont know yet if those dividers are fully controlled through BIOS but i believe they are... Still waiting my CPU to POWER ON this Mobo and find out what really happends.....
Is easy for an owner of the same Mobo to try a 233 FSB and find out if is stable or not.....
Lets Hope all those dividers are working well now or at least on a future BIOS Update because is a litlle hard to install a DSW on a SMD Board....

I got an e-mail from Albatron regarding the Agp and PCI clock.
I am informed that it is a chipset limitation.
Also it is a problem with VIA and Award bios.
May be motherboards with AMI bios should have no problems to add this feature.
What bios does the Asus K8V use?
How about MSI?
I hope Abit can solve this. I am sure since Abit will only release a VIA K8T800 motherboard, it must be a great motherboard.

For now both Asus and MSI are using the AMI bios.
I have a feeling only K8T800 motherboards with the AMI bios can add the AGP and PCI lock.
