My friend bought a Emachine laptop with a AMD 64 3200+. I incurrage him to get the AMD 64 and not the Centrino.

We tested his new laptop and it works great. But we would like to know more about the processor. The FSB is 1600 Mhz and it runs at 2GHz.

I have a Barton 2500+ running at 2.2Ghz and my FSB is 400Mhz.

What is the difference between both of them?
He and I are new to AMD and we don´t know which runs faster. I told him that I am sure his runs faster then mine but I had no info to back it up.

What is the diffence in speed on both computers?

I also want to know the difference between the AMD XP 3200+ and the AMD 64 3200+

Thank you!

Since the 3200+ 64 is newer is has more of an advantage, it has newer arctecture (build, technology ect.) the XP is older so the tech. isnt as good.

the 64 runs at 800MHz FSB or 1.6 Ghz HyperTransport (as its called by AMD)
the XP runs at 400MHz FSB,

I dont know the clock speed of either but im guessing the 64 would be faster.

if your 2500+ is @ 2.2 then it would be Overclocked (Oc'd)

since it's Oc'd then the stock speed is less then what it is now. (i dont know either but it might be 1.8 Ghz)

thats just a brief summary of what is what

AMD X2 4200+ *** DFI NF4 Ultra-D (modded to SLi-D) *** eVGA 7950GT (with Zalman FC-ZV9)
