I have an FX-60 and was searching through the AMD site and saw the following driver listed:

AMD Athlon™ 64/FX Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (x86 and x64 exe)

Device Manager shows that I am currently using the stock drivers from Microsoft installed for my CPU (v5.1.2600.0 dated 04-01-2004) on WinXP. My system runs great with no problems to speak of. My questions are: Would I see any benefit from installing this CPU driver? Has anyone installed these newer drivers and seen any problems? I've never installed a stand-alone CPU driver before, so I'm a little bit leery.

Also, if I do install, what is the correct procedure to follow? Thanks.

Athlon 64 FX-60, ASUS A8N32-SLI, Corsair XMS 2GB DDR400, BFG 8800 GTX, Audigy 2 ZS, Win XP
