firstly thanks for previous reply, as i mentioned before i have to use old re-cycled bits to make my pc the athlon xp 1800+ was running at around 69 C in the old Time computer the motherboard/operating system had too many problems to use as it was so iput it in my pc whitch was running a duron 700 cpu so i effectively doubled speed, obviously i reset jumpers as per manual, the funny thing is that this cpu is now running a temp of around 30C quite happily ,i think, but could the higher temp (69C) have damaged it or would it just not run attall if it were faulty, do cpu's just give up and die or do they carry on even if they are damaged. would appreciate your thoughts. top cat.
