I have reacently bought a few upgrades for my pc, (motherboard cpu and rab) so not far off a new pc, anyway it is a Via k8t800 motherboard with a athalon 64 3200+ prossesor, unfortunately the sytem never gets past cpu boot-up..... basicly nothing happens, and nothig to monitor...
anyway i am useing power supply that i had befor 250w could this just not be able to provide the power?

The 4-pin ATX12V connector must be connected to the motherboard, or your system will not even POST(i.e. blank screen, nothing happens).
Anyways a 250W unit is way too weak for a modern desktop-system, so you will need a new Powersupply - make sure you get a unit from a good, well-known brand like Antec or Enermax for example. Around 400W should be more than enough, but what's much more important than the total wattage is the maximum amperage the powersupply can provide on the +12V rail - it should be atleast 18-20A.
