Like I said I have a 250 build and 240 build with DDR 2 1066 running as we speak and then running at them speeds just fine.

Thanks a lot then! Silly AMD website No wonder I been seeing mixed responses about this.

Hey, I been looking around to find the answer to this question. But I got some conflicting and old answers, so I decided to ask here.

Is DDR2 1066 compatible with Athlon II x2 250? Or does it get downgraded to 800?

If not I assume Phenom II x2 545 works fine with DDR2 1066?

Thanks in advance.

PS I might have posted in wrong forum...couldn't find delete button though.

PS 2...Duuur...i think I been looking for this
Unless I'm overlooking something this answers my question. Sorry

That's a good question, I'm not sure if the 250 supports DDR2-1066 or not.
You may have to go to AMD's website for the 250 specifications.
Yes the 545 will support DDR2-1066, all Phenom processors do.

yes the 250 regor supports DDR 2 1066.

Have it running 3.5 Ghz with 4 gig of DDR 2 1066 running in a PC as we speak.

FYI ALL Athlon 2 series support DDR 2 1066 and HTT 3.0 & DDR 3 1333.

They use the same exact memory controller base as phenom II AM3 line.

Ahh thanks. But out of curiosity why does AMD site says, on Athlon II x2:

Type of Memory Supported:

X2 - Support for unregistered DIMMs up to PC2-6400 (DDR2-800MHz) -AND- PC3-8500 (DDR3-1066MHz)

X4 - Support for unregistered DIMMs up to PC2-6400 (DDR2-800MHz) -AND- PC3 10600 (DDR3-1333MHz)
