I have an ASUS M5A97 with newest BIOS (0901) that does not see All the RAM when the FX 6100 is installed but does see al the RAM when I fit a dual core or quad core CPU to the Mobo.

The Mobo reports that Slot 2 and 4 has RAM in it but only reports 4 of the 8 GIG and even when I fit 16 Gig it only reports 8 Gig RAM. Always half of what is fitted.
The Mobo will also not boot with only one DIMM in any slot.

The RAM test fine and works perfectly with the 2 core and 4 core Phenom 2.

Any ideas? I have contacted ASUS already but will have to wait for thier response.....

So today I took it back to the supplier.

After re-testing everyting, flashing the BIOS, other RAM and finally another MOBO, it came clear that the CPU was faulty.

It was then RMA'd and the new CPU now works like a charm.

I thought I would let the 20 of you know what the outcome was.

Regards.
