I am trying to install XP Mode in order to get some propriatarty (to Win XP) hardware & software to work. The 'XP Mode' fails to finish it's "Setup" phase with a vauge error.
Could not complete Setup. Please try again.
Microsoft says it's a problem that they have know of since at least Jan 2012.
KB2519949 Article
The problem is that the fix requires me to get the "Windows 7 OEM Preinstallation Kit (OPK)". That is not available to the general public.
Is there another solution (or another source of the OPK) that does not require me to signup as a MS Partner in order to get the OPK?
Also, is AMD lighting a fire under MS's rear end in order to get a proper fix (ie available under Windows Update or a simple executable)?
----edit------------
It helps if I READ the KB article CAREFULLY
The linked (in the KB Article) fix is compete by itself and only needs the OPK for OEM manufacturers that want to install the fix in newly built PCs.
