I recently built my computer and am just starting to learn about all the details of what goes on in a computer.

I have an AMD 64 3200, a ATI 9800 AIW video card, 1G of corsair value select RAM, the K8 Neo Platinum MSI mobo with nforce3, and a 380W power supply by antec.

I've had this computer for a while and was never fully satisfied with its performance as it seemed to get bogged down by tasks easily(such as alt-tabbing from BF2 or HL2).

When you first put the computer together do you need to mess with anything in the BIOS? I updated the drivers for my mobo, video card, and processor and I was wondering if I was leaving anything out.

Any helps or tips would be appreciated.

if you dont have any problems booting or within windows then dont worry about it.

Alt tabing BF2 or HL2

my computer gets boged down doing that (BF2 and HL2 are big programs) but depends on what you call boged down

3000+ XP (K7)
1gb ram Dual chan mode
NF7-S V2.0 (nforce)
2x200GB WD 8Mb

Gameing > AMD64 5000+ X2 Black (OC 3.2ghz - 1.375v) > TK Big Typoon > Asus M2N32-SLI delux > 2.2gb 4gb Gell ram > NVIDIA 8800 GTX > X-FI

Server > phenom 9500 (OC 2.475ghz 1.3v)> 4gb ram > Asus M3A32-MVP> lots of disk space
