My Name is Jayesh Bhgwati, from Bombay - India.

Today I have purchased AMD Athllon ™ 64 Processor with Hyper Transpoort

™ Technology 3000+ Socket 939..

I seek your guidence in this regard as I have few questions

1) When I check my System Properties of my PC it shows this:-
1.81 GHz,448 MB of RAM
Physical Address Extension
what does this mean?
I was sold this PC by informing me that it has 3 GHz processing Speed,
if that was so than how come my System Properties is showing such a huge

diffference? what is the true correctt speed ?
Why Public in General is misguided by such misleading facts?
what kind of settings are reequired to be done additionally? As ASUS manual

does not speciify correctly.
The mother Board is ASSUS A8N-VM with ATX , Form Factor :- uATX: 9.6 in. x
9.6 in.
Managebility :- WfM2.0, DMI 2.0, WOL by PME, WOR by PME

My PC has 512 MB DDR RAM, with 128 MB Graphic Card(NVIDIA GeForce

I Have seen Benchmarks for this proocessor on your site, and went ahead and

inquired with my local PC Dealer about the truth, however to my surprise,he

had very less (negligible) knowledge about your product,,the reason that he had

was equally shocking, that since there is no proper after sales support of AMD
in Bombay (now known as Mumbai) who would take the responsibilities of the

product if some problem arises? He further said that if I insist on buying for

anyAMD products, than he dooes not stand any guarantee because of the reason

he stated above.

Under such cirumstances, and after finding what my System Properties is

showing,I too have started to think that perhaps my hard earned money is

wasted. As I have just no idea as to what is the actual speed of my pocessor.
Thinggs are very vague,unclear.

AMD's 3000+ is the equivelant to Intel's 3.0ghz cpu's. it runs at a true clock speed of 2.0ghz (1.8 is close if you have slower memory).

as far as memory goes, you have 512 installed, but only 448 available because you more than likely have onboard video which us sucking 64mb from you.

Not to worry, your money was not wasted.

amd are perfectly fine cpus and it seems to be running fine.

I understand your confusion in regards to the processor speed though.

Your AMD cpu's will have the same, or better performance than an Intel 3.0 ghz cpu even though it runs at a much slower speed.

The 3000+ is a performance rating, not the actual speed.

Your PC dealer is an idiot so if you can, find another one. Someone who should be dealing with computers.
