I have a AMD 64 3000 system that keeps freezing up or locking up while in Win XP Pro. At first I thought it was the Power Supply so i got a new Antec 550 Watt True Power and installed it but it still kept randomly freezing up. I have since gone thru 2 Asus Av8 Deluxe MB and now have a New Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9, Its still freezing up randomly. I have also replaced the Floppy drive, have a New Plextor DVDRW 716A Drive, replaced the video card a Nvidia GeForce 6200 PCI Express Card. I have also updated the Bios on the Gigabyte MB to F9 Version. Have also reinstalled Win XP Pro numerous times. Its still locking up randomly and no errors showing in event viewer. Have also ran Memory tester on the memory but not coming up with any errors. Does anyone have any advise on what could be causing this issue , Thanks for any help
2 things. your memory is bad or your cpu is bad. try using just one stick of ram and try different slots. then test your other sticks the same way. if you're still having problems when using just one stick (and tested both sticks this way) then your cpu may be bad.
