Hi i am clocking my Athlonx2 4200+ to 2.6ghz.....with stock multiplier and my fsb is 237Mhz...my v core is 1.45-1.46 not using a memory divider...My Idle temps are 36..and while running OCCt and surfing the net my temps are 48-49 MAX not reaching 50..i am using Air cooling a little case Modd so am i ok here....Should i lower the VCOre..and if i do will it be stable please help?

the lower the vcore the better aslong as it stable

50 is ok temp just dont go over 60c

As long as it's stable, it's not too hot.

Athlon 64/X2 processors will shut the computer off automatically if they get past somewhere in the 60-65C range, so if you get here, or if you start having program crashes/lockups/restarts/etc. then you know it is getting too hot.

I personally like to monitor my temps with Motherboard Monitor (see link in my sig), though SpeedFan (also in sig) is another good option if your motherboard is not in MBM5's list.

It's trial and error since no two chips or boards/systems will be exactly alike, so only you can really tell us what yours can do. In my experience one of the best tools for vcore testing is to run Prime 95's "FPU Stress" test, run one copy on each core (use the affinity setting).

FWIW, I'm running a (Week 37, 2005) 4200+ @ default vcore @ 227x11 with cool n quite enabled which the vcore peeks @ 1.36V under load, @ 236x11 I had to bump the vcore up to 1.375V.
