I built a system with an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ CPU on a Gigabyte GA-K8VT800M motherboard. The hardware part of it is easy to put together. The BIOS is what is throwing me for a loop. I'm not sure if the settings are at what could be optimal. Does anyone know what would be the optimal settings for this type of motherboard using this type of CPU? I'm mostly interested in finding out what the CPU Host Frequency of the AMD64 chip is. I don't think it is at the correct setting... which is the BIOS default. How do I find this out?

If anyone has the overall suggested optimal BIOS configuration for the motherboard, that would be cool to see, but I really want to get the CPU properly configured in BIOS first.

Actualy, the bios detected CPU frequency is 99% of the time totaly correct. Make sure your computer works fine before messing with the bios...
