If there's a string on this already I apologize for asking again....
Just got a new PC with an X2 4600+ Dual Core. The main reason I wanted to get a new PC was to speed up my video editing software speeds. But when I run the software I only get 50% usage out of the processor. Maybe this is a stupid question, but does anyone know of a way to optimize/tweak the dual core processor so it focuses on one process to help speed up that process?

because its a dual core, youre actually running full 100% on one core while the other is free to use. Try setting affinity by turning on Task Manager, go to processes and right click on the process you want to set affinity *note* only regular programs only, those with SYSTEM will not work. If you want to go faster, install the dual core optimizer on the AMD website or overclock

Thanks. The optimizer helped. One question on overclocking... I don't know tons about overclocking so I figured a tool like ClockGen would help me out. But, I can't do the PLL Setup (the dropdown screen is greyed out). I've read some stuff about certain processors being locked, and wasn't sure if that's what's up. Any thoughts, or suggestions (even other software???).
Thanks again!
