I recently build 2 systems
MSI k8n platinum Nforce 4
AMD 64 XP 3200
2* 512 MB ram
MSI GFX 6600 PCIe
Samsung 200 GB SATA2
WinXP 64 and Mandriva 2006 PP
The computers booting process is like a lottery when i cold boot ( start computer after a nights rest).
Warmbooting is nearly impossible.
The problem is like this:
1. I hit the power button and somtimes in POST the memory count starts and if the memory count starts the computer boots up.
Up and running it's stable as a rock and can run 24/7 with no hazzle.
2. If windows needs a reboot or if i wan't to reboot to windows/mandriva i never starts until the computer is cold GOTO 1.
I tryed with a lot of stuff.
Tryed wit almost everything disconnected. Changed place on memory modules. Pick one of them out and try wit one module and somtimes it starts and somtimes it don't.
Asus A8NE Bios v 10.1
AMD 64 xp 3200
Asus ATI X700
160 GB maxtor SATA
It's impossible to install Linux on this machine
If i try to install Mandiva 2006 PP 64 it hang after i clicked on licens
32 bit Mandriva 2006 PP result in an error because it's wrong type of CPU
Win XP pro 64 take extremly long time to start and is not working at all
It works fairly with 32 bit Win XP pro.
Is it time to switch over to intel again after 50 desktops with AMD.
My rep as a computer builder is decreasing rapidly now and i need help here.
