I just built a pc and installed a 4000+ Athon X2 in it. Everything runs fine except for the speed on the cpu fan. It runs between 340 rpm and 350rpm. The temperature is around 35C idling and 45C under load. It is not extremely hot, but my pc yells at me that the cpu fan speed is too low.

When i first boot the system the cpu fan spins at a high speed then slows to a steady slow.

I think it is a bad fan, since i tried to mess with the bios a bit and couldn't get the fan to spin any faster. The fan does not kick up at all when the cpu gets hot. I turned off the case fans and ran some programs and the fan just crawled at its horrible slow pace and the cpu temperature increased.

anyone else have any problems? did i miss a setting in the bios?

edit: everything is stock heatsink and fan, 4 pin mobo connector.

what is is the model of your motherboard ?

it sounds like(most likely) it is a bios feature.
perhaps have another look, disable fan control or cool and quiet or anything to do with fan speed.

My mobo is an ASUS M2A-VM/V-M2a690G/DP_MB. It has a Pheonix AwardBIOS. I tried turning off quietncool with no other results. I disabled fan warnings, but i didn't see an option to disable fan control. There isn't much to do with fan control.

Under the Power tab in the BIOS on the Hardware Monitor page is the Q-Fan Controller and one other fan setting.

The question is, if there realy is a Problem in the first place which has to be solved

just joking ^^

If ur temps are this low there is no Problem, your MB only trys to help u
The Fan is Temperatur Controlled, if the Temps are Low it will spin slow if it gets hotter the Fan will start to spin faster.

If u want the fan to spinn all the time at 100%
Look in the Bios there should be a Fan Speed Controll.
