Hi all, Im a noob to this board, and have a question.

I recently went to MS windows update. It is telling me there is a driver available for my CPU which was released in August of 2001. However, there is no decription as to what is in the driver update, and what is affected. A visit to the driver page on the AMD site shows no driver released in that month available for down load. My Question is how do I know what is in the new driver, and whether I need to update the driver, when my system is running great?

I have an AMD XP 2200+ on an A7N8X rev. 1.04 mobo; bios ver 1004, and am running Windows XP Home Edition with all critical OS updates installed.

I've read this a few times on other boards in the last couple of days.

The general opinion is a M$ glitch.

Unless you have a mobile CPU, you don't really need to install/update a Processor-driver...
