I just recently purchased and AMD Athlon XP 2800+ processor at a computer show I am running it on Windows XP Pro but when I go into My Computer and right click on it reads the system as an AMD 1600+ processor running at 1.66Mghz
Does anyone know why this would be happening? I'm sorry it's reading the processor as an AMD 1600+ and running at 1.4GHz Why won't the OS read the processor as an AMD 2800+ ??

Xp is reading correctly if you go to the bios you will find your fsb is at 133 instead of 166 as it should be 133 X 12.5 multipler for 2800+ =1660.
Just set it to 166 and both will be right.
