Hey i just got an AMd XP 2800 on a Shuttle AN35 Ultra MB. Running a FX 5200 at 128 mb and 512mb DDR Ram in a caseedge diabolic minataur case with 400w ps and one 120 fan. The prob i am having is it is showing as a AMD 2500 running at like 1.8 ghz which i believe my 2800 should run at like 2.28 ghz. My question is ......is there something i have to do to the mb to make it run at what is supposed to be and if so how do i do that.

Make sure that your FSB is set to 166mhz and your multiplier if you are able to change it is set to 12.5.

I had to do the same thing. Your Bios probably has it set to 133. Change it to 166 and it should bump to 2079.

That seems strange. Is the multiplier set at 12.5?

With your fsb frequency set to 166mhz and Vcore to 12.5 it should be reading it as a 2800+ but unfortunately sounds like you may have goten the wrong processor. Take it back, or where did u get it from..?

I think you got the old switch a roo. If you run CPUZ and it says 2500, I would believe it. Take it back.

I actually have a 2500+. The store accidentally put in the 2500 instead of the 2800 whicvh is no big deal. There is only .2 mhz difference. They are crediting it to me on another stick of PC 2700 512mb DDR Ram
