I put a XP-M 2500+ on my test (Albatron KX18D pro) board this morning with a Swiftech MCX462-V cpu cooler with 92 mm vantec fan It progressed all the way to 2300 mhz (200 X 11.5) on stock voltage (1.45v) running Prime 95 and presently at cpu 34 deg C. So far from stock freq. the temp has only gone up 1 deg. Will this one make 2700 mhz on air. A strange thing occured when I switched from 15 X 133 to 200 X 10 the temp dropped 4 deg C.

I had to take it up to 1.55 vcore to get it stable at 2400 Mhz. And the temp went to 37 deg C. It was not stable I had to take it to 1.575 to get it stable but the temp went to 40 deg C. I think that may be as far as I go until its burned in a little.

Stable at 2500 mhz on air. Ivan I need a watercooler this may be the
3 Ghz one.
(3-21-04)I cranked it up again this evening went right to 200 X 12.5 set vcore to 1.65 its running Prime 95 at 43 deg C in a room thats at 27 deg C.
This chip has not hiccuped in anyway!
(3-22-04) This morning this chip cranked up and is running at 200 X 13= 2600mhz.
So far this chip has never failed to boot or shown any stability problems or had shutdowns. Vcore has only been increased to produce stability in Prime 95.

What Vcore's it need at 2.6GHz? Is it still 1.65v, or did you bump it some more?

See if you can break 2.8GHz. THAT'd get you some serious CPU power (and bragging rights!, for sure!

Its at 1.65 Vcore to get the 2600 I have not had time to make sure its 100 % stable yet. Have some other work to do for a couple of days and do not want to leave it unattended at that freq. I will not take it over 1.8 vcore on air if the temps allow it to go there but I think it still may make 2.7 on air??

For sure man, you may even be able to get 2.8. And with a good watercooling setup I don't see why you wouldn't be able to get 3GHz. Man that processor is amazing. I think AMD purposely put that out as a gift to the OCers for castrating the original 2500+.

It certainly should break 2.7GHz without trouble. You might even break 2.8GHz on 1.8v!

By the way, if your cooling can handle it (looks like it can), there's no harm in going up to even 1.85v. Beyond that it gets pretty risky, though.

It makes me sick to look at my Desktop XP 2500+ now. Right out of the pakage these run 3200+ speeds with 1.45 vcore and do it at 34 degrees C with 100 % load.

Congratulations man! You don't need a watercooler for those low voltages. Give it 1.75 or even 1.85 with no trouble on your mind! See if you can get 2.8 out of it!

IQYHA is the best I consider it proven now. 2.6 @ 1.65 ... phew! Did you try giving it 1.85 and seeing what comes out?

Ivan I have to admit my four year old grandson is visiting and when he is at my house this test setup is his computer to play games on and he came yesterday and will be here till tue evening so I just cranked it back to 3200+ and let him play. A little burn in time wont hurt it. I do not play with it while he is around because he pushes buttons but so far has never done any serious damage? I will get serious after tommorow when he is gone.

That may be the end of the road on air it did not want to boot past the opening screen in Win 2K. I kept bumping the vcore and finally got tired and just slammed it to 1.85 V. Any suggestion on improving stability at this speed will be appreciated!
Even at that vcore it idles at 34 deg C.
