would a 3000 be able to be overclocked further then a 2600?or are they basicaly
the same do to the 266 fsb?

More then likely, you'll find that both the 2600 and the 3000 will overclock to the same speed. It is not uncommon to find cpus with different speed ratings that actually came off the same wafer. The rating is based on what set of testing criteria the chip meets.
