can I use my stock HSF as cooling to OC my 2600+?? I dont know what its temps are at idle, but it's probably 40-45 C

You could use the stock hsf, but it wouldn't really be advisable to much oc'ing with it. You would be better served by getting a good quality aftermarket one. Plus, one thing you haven't mentioned is the memory. That is as important as the hsf for stable overclocking.

Rico, I currently use my stock H&F for my OC'd Barton 2600+ I have found that you should get to speeds of the 3200+ (2.2Ghz) with little trouble; however exceeding that is a little tricky.
