hi al, i have ordered 2600+ thinking that its clock is 2.1G & FSB is 333MHz.i dint know much about the models of 2600+.when i checked in the bios it is giving cpu clock is 1.9GHz & fsb 166Mhz. how is its performance, compared to 2.1GHz(2600+) & fsb 333Mhz. i have 256MB RAM.
There are three different versions of the (desktop)Athlon XP 2600+...since they all have the same quantispeed-rating, they will perform equal on average - actual performance depends on the application(s) you're running....some apps favor higher clockspeeds while others will benefit from a bigger L2-cache.
Model 8(Thoroughbred), 256KB L2-cache, 133MHz FSB, 2.13GHz core clock(133x16.0), OPN: 'AXDA2600DKV3C'
Model 8(Thoroughbred), 256KB L2-cache, 166MHz FSB, 2.08GHz core clock(166x12.5), OPN: 'AXDA2600DKV3D'
Model 10(Barton), 512KB L2-cache, 166MHz FSB, 1.92GHz core clock(166x11.5), OPN: 'AXDA2600DKV4D'
There might be a forth version using the 'Thorton'-core(model 10 with 256KB L2-cache), but its existence is currently NOT confirmed by the appropriate official datasheets.
