I bought athlon 2700+ with Quantispeed Architecture and Gigabyte mother (kt600). Can anyone tell me the correct settings (ie clock ratio) for this processor as it is running slower that the 1700+ it replaced (on different mobo).

I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks,

Fred.

the 2700+ is a thoroughbred and runs at 166 * 13 = 2158mhz

Thanks JTR,

I have noticed that the details in DMI are as follows:
Volt 1.7v
External clock 167 Mhz
Max Speed 2800
Current Speed 1086

Current speed looks very slow to me and it is showing in the performance of computer. Have I done something wrong?

Thanks again,

Fred

usuallt the multi is set correctly, with only the fsb needing to chage... but if its set to 166 that should be fine.
try dl'ding CPUz http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php' ">http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
and check back with that.
other than that, try checking for viruses/spyware/adware
edit: if the fsb is set to auto or something like that.. try setting it to 166 manually..
