After downloading the latest updates from Microsoft, I restarted my computer that has the above mentioned MB. From then on, the monitor is jumbled with green pixels and the computer does not start, no beeps, and the hard drive does not turn. I've reseated everything and tried different video cards with same results. Nothing. If I start it without a video card, it does beep once and sounds like it will start.

Any help will be appreciated.

Ok, my board has an AMD Barton 3200+, 1GB Ram, 80GB WD hard drive. Sapphire HD 3650 AGP video adapter, Samsung DVD RW drive, an ISO-400 switching power supply,and an Acer P215H monitor. I'm running Windows Vista 32bit OS.

How much of that stuff was in the pc originally? I would imagine the graphics have been upgraded. Anything else?

I would suggest you try a decent power supply as the ones you usually get in off-the-shelf pcs are junk.

Link for downloading motherboard drivers, manual etc http://www.fic.com.tw/support/...oard.aspx?model_id=118 Not much support for OEM products I'm afraid.

Also check the capacitors on the motherboard for signs of bulging, leaks.


FYI the xp3200 does not figure in the official CPU support list

Are you able to enter Safe Mode in Vista when powering up? Press F8 during windows boot.
