im playing a game and it will pause breifly often im thinking i need to cool it more? but i have fans in the case front and back is 76 too hot?

Well, at 76 I would not even turn the computer on.

Sounds like either the temperature probe on the motherboard is giving an incorrect readout, or the TIM (Thermal Interface Material) between the heatsink and CPU has been incorrectly applied.

I have the same XP 3200+ Barton, and its famous for temperature problems.
