Here is my problem. About two weeks ago my Asus a7v8x , xp1800 cpu and 256 -2700 memory machine went dead. I rma'd the board back to Asus and have been told that its in repair. Now thats the only thing they have told me to date. Now heres where the fun begins. I dont know if the cpu and memory are okay. At the present time I will need a new thermal pad and possibly a new heatsink. This I will need and asking where can I purchase a new thermal pad or should I use something else.

You can use Artic Silver AS5 or ceramique which work very well or if you intent on a pcm pad they are availiable from Comp USA.

The only other question which I should have stated in my original post is that if it is the cpu thats also burnt out how difficult would it be to remove the artic silver from both the heatsink and cpu. Thanks Again
