My motherboard will handle an amd xp 2100+ palomino cpu. I hae an amd mp 2000 cpu available does anyone know if it will work? I have an asus a7v133-c motherboard.

you can go to the motherboards home page and get a compatability list for all cpus that it will handle.

I have done that but there is no mp chips there i am not sure what the mp chips are to be honest

It should work, though you BIOS may incorrectly recognize...

mp cpus are xp with a bridge connected to enable multi-cpu.. should work but with wrong identification.. ie: AMD Athlon xxxxmhz..
