I have recently been given a CompaqPresario SR1340UK desktop with a MS-7093 motherboard.

Currently running a XP3200+ socket 939 with 1gb ddr 400. Soon to be 2gb.
BIOS is Pheonix 3.07

What options do I have in terms of processor upgrades?

The bios seems to be proprietry Compaq/HP version. Can I upgrade/alter this?

Seem like any S939 CPU will go into this.

The OEM version of this board is called MS-7184, used in HP/Compaq, emachines, Gateway.
I see some have had success flashing the original MSI ms-7093 bios, by adding a couple of switches to the flash command.
In case of flash with original, also need to disable a few items that are not present on the OEM board.
The audio driver will need be reinstalled after flash.
