Question, does anyone have any idea why my friend and I have the same CPU but not the same CPU? We both ordered Barton 3200+ 400 FSB CPU’s. Mine is green and his is an orange-ish/brown. Both have the same serial number (OPN), that labels them as AMD Barton Athlon XP 3200+ 400FSB CPU’s (AXDA3200DKV4E) – (http://www.angrygames.com/AMD_CPU/AMD_CPU/AMD_CPU.htm). Both of our CPU cores are rectangle rather than square, noting they are indeed Barton’s and both do indeed run at the 400MHz FSB in both systems. I believe his was ordered as retail and mine as OEM, does AMD use a different color to show what the CPU was bought as or distributed as?
Besides those differences, in one corner of the CPU is an Green One is an T and the other has an N. The green one is also missing one of the bumps (I don't know what they are) that circle the CPU's core. In the image below, I've circled the differences. By the way, the image looks just like my friends 3200+...
