My pc would not boot - powered on, but no beeps, and nothing else. I cleared CMOS and I booted to BIOS, re-set, and it booted into XP and then crashed. Re-booted and stable since. But Sisoft Sandra shows the chip at 127C/260F!!! It isn't - the BIOS shows 37-40C, which is fine.

Is this a chip sensor problem?

Also, the BIOS screen for setting the chip voltage will no longer let me select any of the items on the screen. However, settings appear normal.

No overclocking done. System is M848ALU with 500mb crucial memory and WD 80 gig disk, ATI radeon 9200 AGP. All new.

Anyone come across this before?

I did! In my case, was a Sandra's innacurate reading. Use Motherboard Monitor 5' ">http://www.dvhardware.net/modu...tent&pa=showpage&pid=3
