Hello forum members,

Being new to the forums, i would like to say hello first.

Now to the topic. My sister owns the same PC as I do. I installed Windows 7 for her onto her PC. Now some things aren't, well, working correctly. The thing i noticed, is that the descripted graphics card, the ATI radeon xpress 200 series, isn't supported in windows 7, and thus cant activate windows Aero. Strange I thought. Especially since it's a 64 mb graph card (or so I believe), with 1GB ram, according to the website of windows, enough to run aero. Is it a problem with the card? Or is there a driver fix?

System specs:

1.8 GHZ~AMD Athlon (or turion, i belive athlon) 64
1 GB of RAM
Ati Radeon xpress 200 series.
Standard VGA
Windows 7 Ultimate, Aero not tested on other versions, I don't own other versions.

Thanks in advance, and have a nice day.

Try here. http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

That setup should work. Maybe you should try windows 32 bit if you're on windows 64 bit version, as you only have 1024MB of ram.

Hmm, I looked at the page, but it seems that the ati xpress 200 series isn't there. Also, I'm a bit confused. When I enter dxdiag, and look for the video card settings, it seems that it has a total of 256 v mb. Other programs only recognise 64 mb of video ram. Is there a problem here? And was the xpress series merged with some other control panel. Im running the catalyst control center.

Can it enter safe if you press <F8> a few times during the early stages of Windows boot?
