I have a socket 754 and as i remember, my old previous processor's AMD Athlon 2800 and the one I just brought is AMD Athlon 3200.

I have cleaned the PC from dust and have tried putting all the components multiple of times at their place to make it run, but the pc does not run windows. I only get the beginning black screen without windows and then it quits after I press to run normally. When I run without windows it eventally stops loading and restarts... Like it does not read it.

I have heard about the idea of BIOS but do not know much about how to change it to get it to run with my processor or if it is actually the cause of the processor not being read...

Could someone tell me how to or got any other ideas why the processor does not work..? It is brand new so it should be fine and all...

You could try with doing a Clear CMOS first. Look up the motherboard brand and model.
Go to the manufacturers website and find the motherboard manual. In the manual it is described how
the clear CMOS is made on your motherboard.

(pair of pins with on the motherboard marked CMOS, with a jumper cap)

Usually going from a 2800+ to 3200+ on s754 does not need BIOS update, but depends on motherboard as well.

After you do the clear CMOS you will have to enter BIOS to set time, boot order etc.

Motherboard
Memory(make, size of each module)
Graphics card(if there is one)
Harddrive
Optical drives
Power supply

I would say either the harddrive is faulty or power supply is on the way out. I don't think there's anything wrong with the processor. It could be getting too hot though.
Check heatsink installation and check cpu temperature in bios hardware monitor.

I looked up BIOS and found some information about it. I recently also had a lot of pc crashes, so I got nothing to lose really... And I did write a post before this one, but it seems like it hasnt got saved or something... As I said, thank you for all help, it gave me a good start on what could be wrong and I read and checked them out so the before upgrade now repair hopefully will lenghten the life of my pc! Ty!
