I recently purchased a Sony Dual Layer DVD RW Drive, after trying to install the hardware my PC is running twice as slow as normal, i have a AMD Athlon 2000+ which normally takes 30 secs to boot up - it now takes 2-3 mins !! Every application I run seems to be the same. Can't even run games or movies without stuttering. I have removed the hardware and still have problems !!

Is there any thing I might have upset on the motherboard, any thing I might have moslodged or unplugged ?? I am a newish user and need as much help as possible!!

What is making my PC so sluggish???

Sounds like a jumper issue with your new drive. Make sure the jumpers are on correctly. Have you done a virus/spyware scan? Check the task manager to see if anything is using alot of RAM or CPU usage.
