I have an MSI ak74 motherboard, 256 DDR 2700 ram, an a 2400 Athlon XP. My problem is:

when I put the FSB in 133, the system hangs when is playing an mp3, or a video, or playing, or even surfing in internet. So I have to put the FSB in 100, but the problem still happen when playing a game or converting mp3 songs. What can I do for my pc to run at normal 2 ghz of the Athlon XP 2400 without problems.

Sorry for my english if its too bad.

Thanks for your help

Welcome to the forum:

With 256Mb of ram I would expect a few speed bumps...

I would recommend you get at least another 256Mb of ram...

Then I would check the capacity of your power supply...sometimes a weak power supply will only let you run at the 100MHz bus speed.

But I don´t understand why my PC work fine when is in FSB 100, it only hangs when working on mp3, converting to another format.

My PS it´s a Powerlink 450W, with pc wizard 2004, it shows:

CPU Core : 1.68 V
+3.3V Voltage : 3.25 V
+5V Voltage : 4.67 V

What kind of temps do you get?

Maybe when your cpu is running intensively (i.e. converting MP3s) it generates too much heat, or over the temp that the mobo regards as safe.
